Cork City FC have announced a new partnership with Everseen which will see them become the main sponsor of the Academy teams for this season.
Everseen, headquartered in Blackpool, is a dominant player in the global supermarket and grocery industry with its video software and AI tech used by some of the world's largest chains to prevent theft at self-service checkouts.
The agreement will see the Everseen logo displayed on the jerseys of the boys U20, U17, U15, U14 and U13 Academy teams and the girls U19 and U17 teams.
Everseen and the Cork City FC Academy had a successful partnership two years ago which resulted in the establishment of a bursary fund which helped the club in providing mental health supports for players. A professional player development fund was also set up which assisted the club when seeking to put Academy players on professional contracts.
2023 was a very successful year for the Academy with six players making their debuts for the Cork City FC Men’s First Team, while four players were put on professional contracts and another four sealed moves to English and European clubs. On the women’s side, six Academy players made their first team debuts over the course of the season.
Each Academy Team has a dedicated coaching staff, which includes UEFA qualified coaches who train the players to progress to higher levels both internationally and abroad. They also invest a lot of time and skills into building resilience within each of the players and supporting their mental health and wellbeing.
CCFC’s Head of Academy Liam Kearney said; “We are extremely proud of the work we do at the Academy which not only improves the football skills of our young footballers but also provides them with confidence and resilience that will serve them well both on and off the pitch. In order to continue with the high-level training that we provide and to improve the services we offer we need the support of local businesses like Everseen so we are thrilled to welcome them back to the club. I would like to thank them for their backing and we look forward to working with them for the coming season.”
Alan O’Herlihy, founder and CEO of Everseen, commented; “Liam and his staff are providing a fantastic service to young footballers both here and across Munster and it is important that they are given the necessary assistance to keep this going. As a Cork company, we want to be able to support our own and invest in the future of aspiring young players and we feel this partnership is a perfect fit for us.”
