Cork City FC kick off their 2024 Women's Premier Division campaign on Saturday, welcoming last year's champions Peamount United to Turner's Cross.
There will be a number of new faces in the matchday squad, as new signings Orlaith O'Mahony, Colleen Kennedy O'Connell, Aoife Robinson and Dorothea Greulich will all be hoping to make their Rebel Army debuts on the opening day.
Speaking at his weekly press conference, Danny Murphy said: "Training has been great, so loads of positives going into the start of the season. We decided at the end of the season that we wanted to focus on new areas around the gym programme and trying to help develop the girls."
"The new signings have been good additions to the team and they've improved us. Chloe Atkinson is back and has been very good in pre-season and it's like having a new player really, as we missed her for the last 5 or 6 games of last season."
"Eva Mangan is our captain this year, she leads by example in how she prepares for a game, looks after herself and how she applies herself on and off the pitch. She will help the younger players who may replace her in the future and be a role model as she looks to develop her own game. Eva's taken it in her stride, we've seen her develop in becoming a leader in the dressing room and around the girls."
"Peamount United is not going to be an easy game, but if we prepare right and focus on the things we know the girls can do, our own strengths I think we'll be in a good position going into the game on Saturday. We just have to go in and concentrate on what we can do and not worry about what other people do or think and just concentrate on our own personal performance."
Tickets for the game are available here, via TicketCo, and will also be available at the gate. Season tickets are also available online, priced at just €79 for adults, and free for U16s!
If you can't make it to Turner's Cross, you can watch the game live on the League of Ireland's official streaming service, LOITV.ie
