Cork City are back on the road on Friday evening, as they make the trip to the Markets Field to face Treaty United. It will be the third meeting of the sides this season, with the Limerick side coming out victorious on both previous occasions.
Neither side were in action last Friday, having both been eliminated in earlier rounds of the Cup. City's nine game unbeaten run came to end at the hands of Shelbourne at Turner's Cross in their last outing, while Treaty played out a 0-0 draw away to Galway United, in which Marc Ludden was sent off.
Speaking at his weekly press conference in Bishopstown, City boss Colin Healy again praised the City supporters for their support over the last few weeks: "They were absolutely brilliant against Shels. They didn't stop singing for 90 minutes. There was a fantastic atmosphere. I say it every week, but they really are the best supporters in the country. They can see what we're trying to do with the club, and what the players are capable of doing. It's fantastic to have them behind us."
"It's going to be a very difficult game. Treaty are a good side, and have beaten us twice already this season. We're going into the game looking for 3 points, like we do with every game. Treaty have a good squad and are in a good position in the league, but we know what we're going into."
On the injury front, Josh Honohan & Gearoid Morrissey have returned to training, Jonas Häkkinen could be back for tomorrow, while Cian Coleman & Gordon Walker return from suspension.
The match will also be broadcast on LOI TV, and you can purchase a single match pass for just €5.
