Team news v Cabinteely
Cork City FC will be looking to build on last week’s opening day win over Cobh Ramblers, as they travel to Dublin to face Cabinteely on Friday. Cian Coleman and Cian Bargary were on target for Colin Healy’s side against Ramblers, as they secured a 2-1 win at Turner’s Cross. Cabinteely were victors by the same scoreline, as they claimed all three points in Ferrycarrig Park against Wexford with Kevin Knight and Dean Casey claiming the goals. This will be the first ever league meeting between the sides. Their only previous meeting was in the FAI Cup in August 2019, with City emerging the victors on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Speaking to the media ahead of the game, City boss Healy said: “Did we keep the ball as well as I would have liked against Cobh? Not really, I would like if we had kept possession a bit better, but lads are still finding their feet. Cobh put us under a lot of pressure as well. That’s something we have to work on and, the more games we play, I think that will happen.” “We have a fair idea what Cabinteely will throw at us. They’re a good side and we have to be ready for them.
