Cork City FC are pleased to announce the signing of Djenairo Daniels until July.
The 23-year-old Dutch striker joins the club having most recently played in Iceland, with Fram.
Speaking to CorkCityFC.ie, Djenairo said: “I am very pleased to be here. I played with Tein (Troost) and I am from the same neighbourhood as Malik (Dijksteel) and they both told me very positive things about the club.”
Standing at over 6 feet, Daniels, who played at youth level with PSV before having spells in Italy, Canada and Portugal, said: “I am a physical player and I think my qualities will suit the league and suit the team. I trained with the team yesterday morning and I was made to feel very welcome; I could see it is a good group, with a lot of good players. I know the guys have had a difficult spell with so many injuries lately, but I think there is a lot of quality here and I want to play my part in helping the team to improve their position.”
City boss Tim Clancy welcomed his latest recruit, saying: “Since Keats suffered a long-term injury, we have been assessing our options and working hard to bring someone in. While we wanted to get someone in as soon as possible, it was important that we got the right player in, and I think Djenairo can be a good fit for us. We have obviously checked him out before he came over and we have now also seen him in training, and I think that he is a good addition for us.”
