Sean Murray Signs Permanent, Multi-Year Contract

Sean Murray Signs Permanent, Multi-Year Contract

Cork City FC are delighted to announce that Sean Murray has agreed a deal to join the club on a permanent basis.

The midfielder joined the club on loan from Glentoran at the start of the year, and he has now agreed a multi-year permanent contract with the club. Murray has made 18 league appearances for City so far this season, scoring 3 times, and he told CorkCityFC.ie that he was pleased to get the deal done: “I am absolutely buzzing to sign a permanent contract with the club. I have really enjoyed my time at City so far, and we have had a very good season so far. When I joined in January, I spoke about what a big club this is and the ambitions the club had for the season. I think we are in a good place in terms of achieving our objectives for the season and to hopefully push on again next season.”

“We have some really good players at the club, and everyone is focussed on getting Cork City back to where we know the club belongs. There is still a lot to play for this season, in the league and in the next round of the cup, and I am delighted that I am going to be a part of that. The support we have had all season has been absolutely fantastic and I am thrilled that I am going to be continuing to play in front of the City fans.”

City boss Tim Clancy expressed his happiness at securing Murray’s signature on a permanent basis, saying: “Sean has been a fantastic signing for us this season, so to have him commit his future to the club is something we are very happy with. When he came in at the start of the season, I said that he would add quality and experience to the group, and he has delivered on that. I think everyone can see what he has brought to the squad in terms of his quality on the pitch, but he has also brought a lot to the group off the pitch as well. He is a really good person and a really good character in the dressing room and around the training ground, and the kind of person we want to have at this club. We have a lot to play for in the last few months of the season, and I have no doubt that Sean will be an integral part of that, as he has been to date.”
