Cork City FC are delighted to announce that we have agreed terms for the signing of Benny Couto.
The 21-year-old left back was born in Portugal, moving to the UK at a young age and progressing through the academy at Oldham Athletic, before making 28 appearances for their first team.
He joins City from Ashton United, and speaking this afternoon ahead of his move to the Rebel Army, Couto said: I’m delighted to be joining Cork City FC. It’s a huge club and an exciting challenge, and I really can’t wait to get going.
I’ve seen what Turner’s Cross is like on matchday, and I can’t wait to step out there as a City player.”
City boss Tim Clancy said: “Benny is a very exciting young player, and is someone that I’m very pleased to have on board.
He is a player with massive potential, and despite his age, brings experience from the English Football League, which is exactly what we are looking for.”
You can join Benny in signing up for 2025, by picking up your Season Ticket!
